#38 Action Man

As Is What Was is a collection of poems created with no thought at all. None. There is no control over grammar, sound, rhythm, idea, or anything really. Why? I thought it would be fun. Is it insane? Absolutely.

These weather storms

And these catacombs

Have been shacking up

To own the matterhorn

And as far as they’ve gone

And as far as the light can reach

All there is

Is another narwhal stuck in a tree

Crowned kings in a tomb

Got left in the womb

Of another future

So now they’re all there

Begging for the sutras

And can’t the believe

That theiyve all gone mad

All gone rad

And all gone god damn sad

So they pray to the trees and the folk

Who seem to be silent

And woke to the words

That the world whispers

Whispers

Frankly it’s a god damn shame

That they’re all about values

That are lost and lame

That they’re all about the long

Land game

But the trenches are filled with actions men

Who came when the genius jester called

To get the papers straight again

And they settled cross-legged in the sand

All in flanks

Hoping that they could lift their ranks

But man they came in shanks

They left in tanks

They cut their teeth

On the things they didn’t say

On the little wishes they didn’t pray

For when they blew out their birthday candles

Caught stank fray

Oh now they play

Oh now they play

Now they play

It’s a god damn day

just another god damn day
