#73 New Tricks

As Is What Was is a collection of poems created with no thought at all. None. There is no control over grammar, sound, rhythm, idea, or anything really. Why? I thought it would be fun. Is it insane? Absolutely.

Bludgeon the curmudgeon

I heard they got new tricks

The adulterers are picketing with characters and flicks

They got a man inside the machine

So now they’re paving all the roads

Running whiteners over truths

That they cannot afford to let go

On top of buildings rest the snipers

All they need’s a single call

Sent an earthquake through foundations

All of them fall

Ring around the roses

Pocket full of anger

The lights have gone out in the offices

So Who is awake to the slaughterer?

Where can I get those ear plugs

How does one turn ablind eye?

When for all these years you’ve been

The champion of blue eyes

Set aside your laurels and strip away your tie

When you ain’t sittin’ pretty

Are you really a tough guy?
