#106 Vesuvius

As Is What Was is a collection of poems created with no thought at all. None. There is no control over grammar, sound, rhythm, idea, or anything really. Why? I thought it would be fun. Is it insane? Absolutely.

Vesuvius in your ears
Joints stretched and free
Worn boxer gloves
Packets of wraps and crisps
Dates with the doorman
Door hand handle the warmth with tenderness
Feel the gifts flow freely

Did the crossings come with ticker tape syndromes
Or did the kleptomaniacs steal your thunder?
By all means, have it your way.
Limestone rhythms are nature’s best poets
Wrapped in concrete undertones
High writing high flying high sightings
Move in tandem with the tarpaulin and ease the rush till it breaks
Cracks
Snivelling
On the sheepskin
Just blimey. Venom. Neanderthals might have been the saviours of the world if they were not a threat
And so it goes
Skin the luncheons ever so slightly
Quilts for the better year
Don’t look for reason. It is an eyesore.
And don’t look for emotions. It’s a tight lore.
Wrack the regions for a quarter past. Saunter last. Listen keenly first
Rate the riot o a scale of one to five. Stars don’t like the sun
He is lofty.
