As Is What Was is a collection of poems created with no thought at all. None. There is no control over grammar, sound, rhythm, idea, or anything really. Why? I thought it would be fun. Is it insane? Absolutely.
These diminishing regularities have caused an uproar my lord
How so? Some don’t like they’re losing what they can afford
What about the others? I think they’re happy that the regime is getting sunk
What do they say about me? Here’s a photo on a banner
Why I’m a skunk!
Yes you are my lord
What? I mean on this they’ve made you one
Are you saying that’s what I look like? No but the word is one
So how shall we crush these thoughts these vehement lies
I have a bath in lavender every single night!
Yes I know my lord
So what then? How dare they say that I stink I brush my teeth
Every day and I rinse them in the sink
Yes I know my lord. And I spray perfume made from the rarest daffodils
My armpits are so fragrant even the women are jealous
I don’t think you can say that anymore my lord.
Why not I am a lord!? Yes exactly that’s the issue
That I’m a lord? Yes
Then why the whole stink thing?
Well it’s part of the whole thing that you’re a stinking king
What did you call me!
A stink – i mean a king my lord
I will throw you off a cliff
There’s no cliff anymore my lord
What happened to the cliff
Well you see you cut down the ten thousand acre forest
For your fair and now the seas have risen
So now you have a beach or so
Well why didn’t you say something?
I didn’t want to cause a stink
You didn’t want to what?
Cause a stir
So what shall I do then?
Well my lord you could just listen
And make amends
We’ll discuss this later, it’s bath time
Later then
